ORCHID COLLECTING and the LAW

Orchids are protected under the law.

No part of an orchid can be taken from the bush without a legitimate reason AND a permit – only take photographs or memories.

To report any suspected removal of orchids, contact Investigation and Compliance Unit (DEWNR)

For more information see Collecting Orchids & the Law

NOSSA Orchid Ethics Policies

As a custodian of the native orchids of South Australia, NOSSA has developed some Orchid Ethics policies to help the individual to both better understand the fragility of the orchids and how they can contribute to the continuation of their survival.

Members click here for details of all NOSSA policies.

Non-members can click here for Code of Ethics – Sensitive Sites (or for printing a 2 page version) and here for Ethical Orchid Photography.
